TYL fall ball is open to new and returning players.  All participants must be Trumbull residents.  All new players must become members of US Lacrosse (www.USLacrosse.org). Proof of membership is required before a child will be permitted to play.  Returning players are already insured through US Lacrosse as part of your Spring 2009 TYL registration.

Fall Lacrosse 2010
by Peter Tinnesz posted 07/27/2010

TYL will be running a fall program but the specific details will not be worked out until mid August.  Fall lacrosse will start mid september and run through Halloween weather permitting.  It is our plan to run the program on Sundays only.

It is our intention to switch our location to the full field grass fields up at THS rather than on the smaller box lacrosse fields up at Spring Hill Park.  Children will be playing in their divisions as a group: boy's U-15, U-13, U-11 & U-9 and girl's senior, junior & bantam.

Once the details are finalized, you will receive an email with the specifics.  Until then, have a great summer!

Travel Team Selections and Requirements for Spring 2010
by posted 03/26/2010

Commitment Level Required for Boys Travel Lacrosse at the Lightning, Junior & Senior Level Teams

Prior to taking a position on a TYL travel lacrosse team please understand that when a player accepts a position on a team, they will be making a commitment to every other player on that team.  The team will be learning and practicing new systems of play that will only be meaningful if ALL players learn those systems. Each player selected for a team will be expected to commit to the practice, game and tournament schedules throughout the entire spring season and progress with the rest of the team.

If a player accepts a spot on a team and demonstrates an inability or unwillingness to live up to the level of commitment required by the team, TYL reserves the right to move the player from that team to another.  In most circumstances, this usually results in a player moving to a lesser competitive team. All coaches value this commitment – if you and/or your son are not fully committed, please do not take a spot from a player who is.

In regards to spring team placements, our board and coaches, as part of the selection process, take into consideration a number of factors including: their experience in TYL, their commitment to prior teams, their skills assessment scores, age, grade, athleticism, maturity, interest/passion, eagerness, hustle, coachability, lacrosse knowledge, and of course child safety.  Ideally, no child should be "out of place" on the roster they've been assigned to. The goal is to place them onto “skill appropriate” teams to ensure they get the most from the season.  TYL coaches children play on A, B & C teams.
