Guide to the TYL Programs and Offerings (Spring, Fall, Winter, & Summer)

Spring Lacrosse:

What: Primary lacrosse season.
Boys Program - Mandatory House Team for all U-15,  U-13  & U-11 boys.  For all age groups, TYL will field travel teams that participate in the CONNY League.  At the U-15, U-13 and U-11 levels, travel teams are in addition to the mandatory house team requirement, and there will be an additional fee charged to play travel at those levels.  All U-9 boys will be assigned to a travel team.  There is no House Team requirement at the U-9 level.  Both house and travel teams will have specific practice dates.  Travel team eligibility to be determined via skill assessment and player experience.  Game jersey and shorts provided for all boys.
Girls Program – Travel team play with associated practices.  Game jersey and shorts provided for all girls.

Who: Boys and girls in Grades K through 8th, and residents of the town of Trumbull.

Where: Trumbull High School / Hillcrest Middle School field complex and Indian Ledge turf.

When:  Late March through early June.  Times and days to be determined.

Travel Team Commitment:
Boys Travel Program - Minimum of two (2) weekly mandatory practices , with one (1) weekend house game and (1) one travel team game, if travel team eligible.
Girls Travel Program - Minimum of two (2) weekly mandatory practices , with one (1) or two (2) travel games.

Eligibility:  Participation is open to new and current TYL players.  (US Lacrosse registration is mandatory for all players and included in registration fee.) 

Other Sport Participation:  Participation on  a TYL travel team requires a commitment to that team over any other spring activities.  Participataion in TYL House Leauge team allows for more flexibility.  

Registration and Payment:  Via TYL website on-line registration system.

FALL CLINICS

What:  Instructional lacrosse, with a focus on skill development.  Potentially some inter-town scrimmages.  A good introduction to youth lacrosse.

Who:  Boys and girls in grades K through 8th and residents of the town of Trumbull.

Where:  Hillcrest Middle School - Pit field

When:  Sunday.  Start date to be determined.  60- to 90- minute age appropriate time sessions.

Commitment:  One morning/afternoon per week.  60 to 90 minutes, age appropriate.

Eligibility:  Participation is open to new and current TYL players.  (US Lacrosse registration is required for ALL new players.) 

Other Sport Participation:  Free to play other sports.

Registration and Payment:  Via TYL website on-line registration system.

Cost: To be determined.

Required Equipment:  Your lacrosse equipment IS NOT included in your registration fee.  You will need to have all required items purchased and on your child at the first day of practice.  Your child will not be allowed to participate until they are fully equipped for lacrosse.  All necessary equipment for both boys and girls is listed in the FAQ section of the TYL website.

 

WINTER LACROSSE:

What:  Instructional lacrosse, with a focus on skill development.  A good way to refresh, re-enforce or learn new skills in anticipation of playing spring lacrosse.  Practice pinnie provided.
Who:  Boys and girls in grades K through 8th and residents of the town of Trumbull.

Where:  InSports, Trumbull CT  (Formerly The SportsZone)

When:  Week nights.  One night per week.  Days and times to be determined

Commitment:  One night per week.  60 to 90 minutes depending on field availability.

Eligibility:  Participation is open to new and current TYL players.  (US Lacrosse registration is required for ALL new players.) 

Other Sport Participation:  Encouraged to participated in other sports/activities

Registration and Payment:  Via TYL website on-line registration system.

Cost: To be determined.
