We would like to congratulate four of our recent Trumbull Youth Lacrosse alumni for their success at Fairfield Prep this season. Connor & Sean Henry were starting members of the Fairfield Prep state championship lacrosse team.
Both Sean and Connor were awarded SCC All-Conference First Team and All-State 2nd Team. Connor was awarded New Haven Register All State Goalie.
Everett Alcan (JV) and Tyler Burden (Freshmen) were also awarded Most Valuable Players of the Prep's JV and Freshman teams.

Member of TYL's first ever bantam team in 2000
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the first time in his career, redshirt junior Frank Piechota was tabbed the Player of the Week by the America East Conference on Monday morning after combining for a pair of stellar games between the pipes for the University of Hartford men's lacrosse team. In two outings, Piechota and the Hawks' defense conceded just 10 goals, earning an 8-7 non-conference win over Dartmouth on Tuesday before ousting Binghamton, 11-3, on the road in league action.
On the week, Piechota posted a stingy 5.0 goals-against average, compiling 32 saves on 42 shots faced for a .762 save percentage. Overall, Piechota boasts a .520 save percentage on the season, the second-highest mark in the league, and is third among all America East goalies in saves per game with 11.64.
Piechota got his week going by making 15 saves at Dartmouth, holding the Big Green to just seven goals in his team's one-goal victory. In addition, he collected four ground balls in the contest.
Against Binghamton on Saturday, the Trumbull, Conn. native was even more impressive, tying a career high with 17 stops while allowing just three goals and adding seven ground balls in the Hawks' 11-3 triumph. The three goals were the fewest surrendered by Hartford since the 2006 campaign when the Hawks defeated the Holy Cross Crusaders, 11-3. Furthermore, that mark is also the fewest allowed by any team in an America East game since Stony Brook blanked Albany in 2010.
With 230 saves on his career, Piechota is currently ranked eighth in Hartford's Division I record books after recently passing Jordan Karem (2002-04), who had 208 stops in his career. In all but two games this season, he has notched double digit saves, a feat he has accomplished 14 times in his career.
Currently tied for second place in the conference standings with UMBC at 2-1, Hartford returns to action against league rival Stony Brook (1-2) on Saturday evening at Alumni Stadium. Prior to the 7 p.m. opening faceoff, seven Hawk seniors will be honored in a Senior Night Ceremony.
